Vocabulary

Here are some vocabulary words that are included in our presentation.

Volume- the space it takes up an object/ can be measured with a graduated cylinder

Weight- how strongly gravity pulls on an object/can be measured with a scale

Mass- the amount of matter in an object/ can be measured by grams

Matter- is anything that takes up space

States of Matter- the five states of matter are: solid, liquid, gas, plasma, and Bose-Einstien Condensate

Freezing Point- when a liquid (water) turns into a solid (ice)/ the freezing point for freezing a liquid is 32º fahrenheit

Melting Point- when a solid (like ice) changes with heat and turns into liquid (water)/ the melting point for melting water is anything above 32º fahrenheit

Boiling Point-when liquid (water) is really really hot, it starts boiling and makes steam/ the

Density- the measure of how tightly matter is packed in an object, whether how an object will float or sink, and is a combination of mass and volume

Evaporation- when the farthest particles on the surface of the liquid escape into the air and become gas

Sublimation- when a solid changes to gas

Condensation- condensation is when a gas turns into a liquid/ the water cycle is also another way of condensation that turns a gas into a liquid

Atoms- atoms have three parts, they are protons, neutrons, and electrons/ atoms are also a basic unit in matter and the smallest property of an element

Molecules- molecules are small particles that make up non-living and living things/ molecules are also formed when two or more atoms join together

Physical Properties- physical properties of matter are: mass, volume, weight, and density

Chemical Changes- chemical changes happen when any state of matter changes its substance that cannot be reversible/ cooking, rusting, and burning are all types of chemical changes

Physical Changes- physical changes happen when any state of matter changes, but can come back to its original shape/ freezing, melting, boiling, condensation, sublimation, evaporation and the water cycle are all examples on physical changes of matter

  1. Amaze, suprisingly When i couldn’t know this unique. I have been analyzing your web page a lot throughout the last 7-day period and he has accumulated a point within my bookmarking. Well done!

  2. You’ve made many different superior details currently there. Used to do searching for the topic and located nearly all of individuals could reach a decision with all your blog site. Excellent work this individual!
